I had a post, albeit a short one, and lost it all because I apparently wasn’t signed in.

That sucks.

It is now 16 hours since I got up, and I have not stopped since then.  The day has included work, dinner, a grocery visit, a drugstore visit, two vet visits with two dogs, one of them mine and one of them not, cleaning off my desk, sending off 100 photos to be printed, and removing a dead fish from one of my tanks.

And losing the previously written blog.

On that note, I am off to bed.

To quote Scarlett, tomorrow IS another day.

Well drat, I was looking forward to reading it! I know how that feels and it’s just never the same after that – it’s the one that got away… Hope it doesn’t happen again; I’m really enjoying your blog.

Thanks for the confidence. Maybe you’d have HATED the whole column, shaken your head in disgust, muttering, “Well, that was complete shite…” 🙂

oh, Ms. Constance, I am sooo sorry…I get this. I had a “roll” going up until April of this year, where I had a post every day for nearly two years. And I’d written a story, and…same as you, I’d logged out somehow and the entire thing was gone. I was so upset I cried about it, actually. And it was an “uber-pissed” kind of crying. Later I sat down and wrote something new, but that original story never did return.

Thank you for the nomination over at Rori’s blog…and the lovely compliment felt like a head-pat/good girl…I was glowing!

Hope today is better for you. 16 hour days are exhausting.

To be fair, it wasn’t all that much of a blog. And I think I’ve now missed three days of posting since I started, so I can deal with that. I promised I wouldn’t get TOO hyper over it, to myself. And I have learned to try to remember to cut and paste the thing before I hit publish and realize I wasn’t logged in, but it is frustrating that WordPress doesn’t have a way to recover in those situations. You panic, hit back, and there’s nothing there, either.

I do enjoy your blog and sent some other folks to it, too, from mine.

You do have a thing for tentacles, don’t you? 🙂

  • vanillamom  says:

    oh, the tentacle thing…*blushes*

well, you see…it’s not something that I ever thought would tickle my fancy. I’ll have to blame Will and Monocle over at Erotic Writers for starting the whole thing…and then I started to write it and there’s a few ….*stops, draws a breath*

    Yes…I do have a growing fondness for tentacles… 🙂
