Ok, so I might have drunk a little much wine myself tonight.
It was great fun, though, most of my favorite people around me, we had a lovely day-after-Thanksgiving Thanksgiving, thank you. And the turkey, if I say so myself, was particularly good.
Now all the (counting on my fingers) 14, I think, people have gone home.
The silver has been washed and dried, the wine glasses that don’t go in the dishwasher are done, there are two pots soaking in the sink.
These are times I’m glad I have two fridges.
And now, good folks, I am done for the day. Too much wine, too much fun, I hope you all had as lovely a Thanksgiving weekend as I have thus far.
🙂 We did have a good time in spite of some ‘complications’. However, as with you, wine, good beer and margaritas are our friends. 🙂 Surprisingly, no hangovers!
You know I didn’t have a hangover either. I actually spent a bit of time after people went home tidying up the kitchen. I actually like that ritual, too, the dishes that have to be hand washed and dried, the chatting about the evening you do as you work – some years I wash and drew dries, like this year, some years the opposite, but I like that portion of the evening.
I still need to put things away, but I’ll also probably get out the Christmas things next weekend, so as long as I get it done before then, I’m good.
It will depend on where we are in the whole moving process as to whether I put a tree up or not. Right now, I’ll settle for a house.
I don’t put up a tree every year. Maybe every three years, give or take. Some years I haven’t felt like it, or I was too busy and had too much to do. But this year, since the house is kind of newly minted again, I do plan to do a tree and some decorations. It won’t be a veritable wonderland, but it will be cheery and bright.
Good luck to you on the whole process.
Thanks.
