Fa la la la la, la la la la…
It is passing fast away, isn’t it?
It’s the eve of the eve of the very last day of 2012.
I’ve been speculating, as we all have, on the upcoming year.
This will mark the 100th year since my mother’s birth.
I’ll be judging at least one international contest this year, possibly two, and that’s both gratifying and a little intimidating.
I want to do some organizing, lighten my physical load. I have some kitchen cabinets to clean out, spices and oils. I’ve actually cleaned out my main pantries over the last few months and kept them tidy, but there’s more to come.
I actually did a quick cleanup of that fabled hall closet today, looking for something I didn’t find anyway. It’s not good, but it’s better. I need to pull everything out and put it all back in order...Read More
The year 2012 is winding down.
There are three days left and then this year will be over. I can’t say I will be unhappy to see it in the rear-view mirror.
It hasn’t been a bad year, in many ways.
In February, my own Bluegrass Leather Pride contest went well, despite having lost two venues in the last month or so before. We ended up doing it in a private home and the upstairs of a local restaurant, and while it wasn’t ideal, it worked. My contestants didn’t end up competing at GLLA, but that happens sometimes.
I was also in Indianapolis in February for Beat My Valentine, an event sponsored by IMAS, Indiana Masters and Slaves.
In March I drove out to Dallas, to South Plains Leatherfest, to watch Charles and jacki compete for International Master and slave.
In April, we went to Fort Lau...Read More
It seems like the weekend is taking nearly as long to tell about as it took to live through it, doesn’t it?
So what happened next?
When last we saw our hero, she had just presented Leather and been presented her own pin.
I should mention, or perhaps I shouldn’t, that I actually spent the entire event in a pair of white Scottie slippers. Fuzzy ones.
I also wore my Santa hat the entire time I presented Leather.
Along with the Scottie slippers.
It’s a really NICE Santa hat, if that makes a difference.
Anyway, once that was over, the event proper was kicked off.
And how did we do that, you might ask?
Let me set the scene.
The supporting players are Elf Devon and Panty Claus.
Elf Devon is an adorable boy, who was dressed in an elf’s vest, hat and ass-less undies...Read More
So, I finally have time to talk about my very very busy weekend.
We have been preparing for our party for a month, at least. It’s actually probably more work than one might think. We don’t just decide to throw a party and then in a sort of 1930 Hollywood movie, the production number all comes together.
Can’t you see it?
The starlet rips off her square-shouldered pinafore and clunky-heeled shoes to reveal a patent bra top, super short skirt and thigh-high boots.
The hero’s bow tie morphs into a collar, and his clipboard into a paddle.
Their best friends – you know, the chubby, funny ones, the ones who would be played by Melissa McCarthy and Jack Black, would start wheeling out furniture, while singing something about Sweet Dreams or something...Read More
It is, according to my computer, 3:24 am.
I got home about a half hour ago. I let dogs out and ate something, and I am about to go to bed.
There will be more, but I believe we had a successful event.
As I always say, at the end of a kinky event, if no one is in the hospital or in jail, it was a success.
If anyone is in either place, it didn’t happen there, so I’m good.
We had fun. Look for pictures, once they’re available, and let me tell you, the ones taken with a certain elf? Priceless, I promise.
There will be more about it tomorrow and probably even after, but I want to thank everyone who was there, I want to thank everyone who worked and volunteered and showed up and I want to thank the people who bought from our vendors and made it worth their while to join us.
And so, goodnigh...Read More
I don’t know if I’ve done this, and if not, that’s kind of stupid of me.
Here’s where I’LL be tonight – I hope to see at least some of you there.
I doubt this will be a terribly long post.
The Bizarre Bazaar is tomorrow evening. I’ll leave at 4:30-ish and won’t be home much before 3am, I imagine.
I doubt I’ll have a post tomorrow, but you never know, do you?
Tonight, I’ve written my Leather ceremony. I’ve written the program.
We set up equipment – six or seven pieces, and prepared for a half dozen vendors.
I have a bag of stuff to take, and another bag of stuff, and then there’s some more stuff in my car to take, too.
I have a list of other things I have to remember, can’t forget, must take.
And, at the moment, I believe the thing I have to do is go to bed.
Expect a review on Saturday, anyway.
So, I have a list of approximately 1000 things to do.
I have to finish up the dining room, though progress has been made. But there’s a window covering to do, a wall shelf to hang, the living room to empty out, and then the kitchen, and then the cleaning of aforesaid locations.
There’s stuff I need to do for the upcoming Fringe Element Bizarre Bazaar, and for my own Bluegrass Leather Pride.
There’s a Leather Presentation I need to write.
I have to refill my ink on my printer.
I have some business of life stuff, things to mail, things to pay, things to buy.
slave drew’s birthday is Wednesday, Thanksgiving is Thursday and then it’s the holiday weekend.
I made a list of the things I have to do and haven’t done them, but making a list was kind of on the list.
I need to get my nails done.
I n...Read More
